Invest Selangor: Two Medical Projects Worth RM26 Million Approved This Year

Selangor is undoubtedly the state that incurs most of the industrial activity in the country and it is also the with the highest number of population. Both attract each other with job opportunity and for businesses for talents and growth potential. As medicine became the focus of attention due to Covid-19, many projects are set to take place across the globe including here in Malaysia, to be better equipped in coming years.

To grow this sector in the State, two projects worth RM26 million in investments in the medical equipment manufacturing sector, involving the production of scientific and measuring equipment, had been approved this year.

Selangor Investment, Industry and Trade, Small and Medium Industries Committee chairman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said of the amount, RM14 million was from local investors while foreign investors pumped in the remaining RM12 million.

This was related on the back of the upcoming Selangor International Expo organised by Invest Selangor the investment arm of the state government. On the sidelines of the major investment event which will be held in November 2021 in Kl Convention Centre, there will also be a conference dedicated to medical activities SIE Medic 2021, which is one of the components of the Selangor International Business Summit 2021.

Dato Teng added that SIE Medic is for industry players from the medical equipment and diagnostic sector; healthcare; pharmacy; and hospital to promote and display the latest health products and services. Apart from the exhibition, the conference will encompass three themes, namely vaccination, elderly care and digital health.
