Solarvest Secures RM175 Million Contract To Build Largest Solar Farm In Perlis

Solarvest Holdings Berhad has secured another large-scale solar project worth RM175 million under the LSS@Mentari programme. The new 50 megawatt solar farm contract was awarded by Classic Solar Farm Sdn. Bhd. for the development of a LSS plant in Chuping, Perlis, which will be largest in the state.

With this new addition Solarvest’s total EPCC orders secured from the LSS@Mentari programme now stands at approximately RM371 million.

According to Group Chief Executive Officer Davis Chong Chun Shiong the project is expected to be the largest solar power plant in Perlis which the clean energy generation will offset approximately 78,450 tonnes of CO2 per year upon commencement. The project win, will increase Solarvest’s unbilled orderbook has increased to RM583 million, making it one of the largest solar EPCC orderbook in Malaysia.

IN its outward look, the group will also be tendering for approximately 1,000MWp worth of projects across Malaysia, Taiwan and Philippines operations. Towards this end, workforce will also be added giving more job opportunities and contribute positively to the local economy.

The Group continues to remains upbeat on the industry outlook albeit temporary setbacks, such as the increase in raw material prices, underpinned by the rise in private large-scale power plant projects and investment inflows.
