PUC Inks Deal With Prasarana To Add e-Marketplace Function On MyrapidTap App

PUC Berhad has signed an agreement with Community Marketplace Technology a jv partner of Prasarana Integrated to provide e-markeplace features for myrapidTap app via its Presto Mall services.

The myrapidTap app which is targeted to be launched by the end of this year will offer commuters with cashless payment for the use of transport services including the payment of transit tickets on Rapid buses and soon for RapidRail. Integrated into the app will be Presto’s white-label e-marketplace solution which will provide e-commerce services for suppliers and retailers inclusive of payment and logistics solutions.

PUC is looking for the feature to serve as a value-added service for the app users where there can also be able to redeem rewards online using points awarded from travelling on public transportation.

PUC’s Chief Executive Officer, Cheong Chia Chou added that many potential benefits can be attained from this partnership including the reduced the risk of commuters coming into physical contact when making purchases online.

There are currently around 1.5 million commuters who will benefit from this additional feature, and the anticipated collaboration could result in an increase in the usage of the myrapidTap app as more customers are encouraged to use the app with the addition of the e-marketplace feature.

Presto is Malaysia’s first homegrown multi-service lifestyle app as well as mobile payments and also provides a white-label e-marketplace solution which allows drop shipping and e-commerce services inclusive of payment and logistics solutions.
