MACC Arrests Key Management Staff Of Silterra A Business Unit Of DNeX

In a notice issued to the Stock Exchange, the board of Directors of DNeX informed that SilTerra, a business unit under DNeX Semiconductor have received notice from MACC that they have arrested several key management personnel of SilTerra to assist in their investigation of a potential offence under the MACC Act.

However, DNeX reports that there are currently limited information available but its speculated this could be related to a legacy issue. Dagang NeXchange Berhad completed the acquisition of 60 per cent equity interest in SilTerra Malaysia from Khazanah Nasional Berhad fpr RM168.3million making the group the majority shareholder of the semiconductor company.

It came after a bidding process set out by Khazanah for which saw multiple parties vying for the manufacturer of semiconductor wafers and other electrical components widely used in devices.

In its statement, DneX has stated that does not condone nor tolerate any form of misconduct among its employees and contractors and will ensure that SilTerra provides its full cooperation and assistance to the authority in their investigation.

Further to the above, the Board of Directors of DNeX noted thatt the business operations of SilTerra will not be affected and there is no financial or operational impact to the DNeX Group arising from the MACC Investigation.
