PKNS Appoints Dato Mahmud Abbas As New CEO

Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor or PKNS has appointed Dato Mahmud Abbas of Halal Development Corp as its new Chief Executive Office.

He will be taking over Siti Zubaidah who retired in early August this year, Abbas is an astute leader has dabbled in both private and public institutions. He has held various leadership positions in his career, including at Central Spectrum a Selangor State linked company and as Project Director for UEM Sunrise.

According to his LinkedIN profile he is skilled in International Project Management, Business Planning, Strategic Planning, Project Implementation, and Business Strategy. Strong business development professional with a Sloan Fellowship focused in Management from London Business School.

A colleague who worked with him in Knowledge Economic City Madinah had this to say about Abbas “I worked with Ahmad in Knowledge Economic City. I find him very detailed in his work approach. He is someone you can rely on to give an honest opinion, not necessarily what you want to hear. His leadership skills lends him respect with his staff and peers. He is very supportive of new ideas that can and possibly take the organisation to the next level of operational excellence.

As PKNS CEO, we will be tasked to further elevate the profile of the property development entity and bring value to its stakeholders, basically the people of Selangor. His immediate action will be to manage the affordable home project initiated by the Chief Minister and maximise the land value under the state.
