Advancecon Accepts LOA For ECRL Section 4 Ground Work Worth RM16 Million

Advancecon Holdings gets a boost to its orderbook with the latest awarding of a construction and to complete the ground treatment work for Section 4 of the East Coast Rail Link Project.

The Letter of Acceptance was issued by China Communications Construction which is the main construction company who will be subcontracting the job to Advacecon Infra Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Advacecon for an estimated subcontract sum of RM16.9 million. The expected duration of the job will be from October 2021 until March 2022.

A massive undertaking by the Malaysian government, the East Coast Rail Link will involve a standard gauge double-track railway link infrastructure project connecting Port Klang on the Straits of Malacca to Kota Bharu in northeast Peninsular Malaysia, connecting the East Coast Economic Region states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan to one another and to the Central Region of the Peninsular’s west coast. The railway link infrastructure project would carry both passengers and freight from the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia to its East Coast and vice versa. Construction began in August 2017 with a total length of the line spanning across 665 km (413 mi) with Double Tracking Line on Double Tracking Formation.

Section 4 of the project refers to Dungun Terengganu where Advancecon which is primarily involved in earthworks, civil engineering and infrastructure works will be working on the ground treatment portion before the tracks are laid.

Its earthworks here relate to activities conducted to prepare building platform and embankment whilst the company’s civil engineering involves engineering activities for the construction of infrastructures.
