Sarawak Consolidated Industries Clinches Schools Redevelopment Deal

Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB), a civil engineering company, announced yesterday that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Industrialised Building System Sdn Bhd (SCIB IBS), has accepted a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Sarawak Public Works Department for an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract worth RM13.28 million for the redevelopment of two schools in Kanowit near Sibu.

The LOA is part of Package 13 of the second phase of the RM1 billion Daif School Redevelopment Project.

The redevelopment of the two schools at SCIB IBS will take eight months, from October 2021 to June 2022.

Rosland bin Othman, SCIB’s Group Managing Director/CEO, stated the company hopes this project will contribute to their financial performance in the coming quarters, “but the main purpose is that this EPCC project will benefit the group as East Malaysia’s largest precast concrete and IBS manufacturer because our construction activities have synergies.”
