Bertam Accepts RM25 Million LOA For Construction Of Sabah MACC Complex

Bertam Holdings has accepted the letter of award to act as sub-contractor for the proposed construction of an office complex of Suruhanjaya Pencegah Rasuah Malaysia (MACC), Sabah for a total contract value RM24,984,394.00.

Despite the award being issued in mid this year, the group did not accept the LOA earlier due to Sabah being under a three-phase lockdown. Listed in the LOA was for Bertam to commence work on the project on July, but the construction industry was not regarded as an essential service, thus, no work order was to be granted by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (“MITI”) to start work on the Project.

It was only when the country went into Phase 3 and 4 that the group decided to take on the project. BDSB was incorporated in Malaysia on 12 March 1979 under the Companies Act 1965 and deemed registered under the Companies Act 2016 (“Act”) as a private limited by shares company with an issued and paid-up share capital of RM5,225, 211 comprising 5,225,211 ordinary shares. . It is registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (“CIDB”) as a Grade G7 contractor since 22 September 2020. As Grade G7 Contractor, BDSB is able to
tender for projects with unlimited value in the categories of general building, general civil engineering, and mechanical works.
