Malaysia Airports’ Cargo Operations Reached 726,800mt

Following the success of the Langkawi Travel Bubble and the National Recovery Plan’s (NRP) progress in reviving the aircraft industry, Malaysia Airport Holding Bhd’s (MAHB) ensures that air cargo remains a key component of local aviation.

Total cargo operations for Malaysia Airports reached 726,800 metric tonnes in September, up 24% from the same period last year.

On the group’s cargo operations, China Central Longhao Airlines’ arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport last month emphasised the growing importance of air cargo in the local aviation landscape.

“The Chinese cargo carrier operated a tri-weekly service between Shenzhen and Kuala Lumpur,” the airport operator said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, MAHB reports that domestic passenger movements increased by 55 percent last month, totaling 362,000 in domestic and 96,000 international.

AirAsia recorded the most aircraft movements with 176 flights and commanded the majority of the average seat factor at 64% during the same period.

MAHB added air cargo remained a fundamental vehicle for aviation and economic recovery.
