ICW 2021 And ASEAN Super 8 To Focus On Industry Reinvention And Recovery

The annual International Construction Week 2021 (ICW 2021), hosted by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, is back for its 21st edition. Co-organised with Informa Markets, an international business that delivers large-scale exhibitions, virtual events, digital marketplaces, the ICW 2021 will include the ASEAN Super 8 mega event, which will be held virtually from November 9 to 11.

Themed ‘The Next Normal in Construction Industry’, the 2021 edition of ICW and ASEAN Super 8 brings together industry professionals and representatives, including Government officials, regulators, manufacturers, contractors, developers, industrial users, consultants, and industry experts. for a month of Virtual Exhibitions, Conferences, Webinars, Business Matching sessions, and Networking activities.

ICW 2021 will also see the launch of the National Construction Policy 2030 (NCP 2030) by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Themed ‘Digitalising the Construction Sector’, the NCP 2030 will guide the continued reinvention and revitalisation of the Malaysian construction industry, towards becoming one that is internationally respected and competitive.

NCP 2030 will set the agenda for industry players to accelerate the adoption of technology and data systems, innovation and automation at every level of operations, including before, during and after construction. Embracing emerging technologies and global best practices is a crucial strategy for the recovery of the sector as this will ensure the Malaysian construction industry is able to be resilient in the face of various challenges domestically and globally.

ICW 2021 will also feature the fourth edition of the International Construction Transformation Conference (ICTC) which bring together regional and international experts to discuss the adoption of new technologies in the construction industry. ICTC 2021 will provide a platform for regional and global industry movers and shakers to explore the innovations and technologies available to the construction industry to build up their resilience and success in a pandemic world.

The event will feature virtual exhibitions, alongside virtual conferences, webinars, business matching sessions, and networking activities. This makes this event an ideal platform for construction industry players to showcase innovations, source for suppliers, make valuable contacts, stay updated with the latest industry trends and gain new industry insights.
