Quench Your Wanderlust with Quarantine-Free Travel Destinations For Vaccinated Malaysians

Vaccinated Malaysians can now travel not only within Malaysia but also internationally. It’s time to quench your travel bug and choose a destination that allows you to visit without any quarantine placed on visitors.

Thailand is the latest country welcoming Malaysians to travel starting November 1 without being quarantined. In fact, Thailand just announced that it will open quarantine-free travel to 46 countries starting November 1st.

Travellers entering Thailand must also be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to traveling.

Year-end celebrations and holidays are fast approaching and some travel plans now needed to be made early with mandatory testing of COVID-19 is compulsory before boarding most flights.

The much-awaited holidays is now possible with many countries opening their borders to travellers. These destinations listed below offer quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated Malaysians.

Maldives

Travelling to this island paradise must present a certificate of a negative PCR test carried out within 96 hours prior to departure. The certificate must clearly show the name and address of the laboratory, as well as the date of the sample taken.

The result needs to be attached to the Traveller Health Declaration form, which must be submitted online within 24 hours prior to arrival. Visitors are asked to download the national contact tracing app, TraceEkee, and use it during their stay.

Tourists can enjoy the many beautiful and luxury hotels and resorts with white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, and with over 60 local dive sites across the islands.

England

England

Visitors travelling to England must book and pay for a COVID-19 test which can cost anything between GBP1.25 (RM7.12) to GBP399 (RM2,272.25).

The test must be taken within two days after your arrival in England and you must also complete a passenger locator form 48 hours prior to your arrival.

England is among the top destinations favoured by Malaysians according to the travel agents in Malaysia. The country is famous with tourists visiting its historical sites like Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and lots more interesting places to visit in London.

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

UAE is open for tourism to any visitors if they are fully vaccinated with one of the COVID-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).

However, travellers must undergo a rapid PCR test at the airport on arrival.

Fully vaccinated travellers are generally not required to quarantine themselves but depending on which country they are from and if they’re travelling to Abu Dhabi, they must take a second or third PCR test after a certain period.

Most people who fly to the UAE are looking to visit Dubai, a regional business hub known for its sleek skyscrapers and home to the Burj Khalifa. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi is the capital of UAE and offers natural islands and luxury resorts.

Turkey

All travellers over the age of 6 must complete a “Traveller Entry Form” online at least 4 days prior to arrival. Passengers arriving in Turkey are required to provide a vaccination certificate. A random PCR testing is carried out at arrival, so be aware that you might be singled out. 

Turkey is a popular tourist destination known for its Mediterranean coastline, impressive mosques, and stunning natural scenery. 

Tourists may associate Turkey with beaches and warm summer days; however, Turkey is also a great winter skiing destination. Turkey offers an interesting alternative to the more well-known Alps or Pyrenees.

There are around a dozen ski resorts in Turkey boasting stunning snow-covered mountain ranges during the winter months. The highest peak in Turkey is Palandoken in the eastern region of Erzurum.

United States of America

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, travellers need to undergo a Covid viral test within 3 days of departure. You are required to show a negative result to the airline prior to boarding or provide evidence of a recent (no more than 90 days) Covid recovery, including a letter from a healthcare provider for clearance. 

The US is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world and some of the most recognizable icons on the planet. Many of the top attractions in the United States are bucket list destinations like the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Statue of Liberty, Walt Disney World Resort, Waikiki or even the White House.

Malta

Fully vaccinated travellers who have been in Malaysia in the past 14 days before travel are not required to quarantine on arrival in Malta.

However, do note that individuals aged three years old and above must wear masks in indoor and outdoor places in the country.

Malta is a popular holiday destination due to its warm climate and breathtaking landscapes. It is home to some of the oldest temples in the world and it is surrounded by beautiful teal waters.

France

This romantic Nation allows fully vaccinated travellers against COVID-19. Meanwhile, if you’re travelling with children over the age of 12, you will have to present the child’s negative COVID-19 test result.

The documents you will need to enter France include proof of vaccination and a sworn declaration stating that you have no symptoms of COVID-19 infection and to your knowledge, you have not been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to your journey.

During your stay in France, you must download and activate the TousAntiCovid application.

France offers a fabulous historic heritage and probably the most diversified natural environment of any country in Europe. Its tourist attractions illustrate the history of the human race, from the prehistoric sites of Cro Magnon to the steel and glass of the Futuroscope; they include fine vestiges of all European civilisations, from the prehistoric megaliths of Carnac and the Roman remains of Provence, through medieval castles and cathedrals, to the splendours of Versailles, the nineteenth century Eiffel Tower, or the resolute modernity of the TGV.

Spain

This European country allows fully vaccinated travellers from Malaysia to visit and are not required to have a negative COVID-19 test result for entry as long as they present valid proof of vaccination.

Meanwhile, children under the age of 12 are exempted from the vaccination certificate requirement.

It will be mandatory to present a Health Control Form upon arrival at the airport. The form must be completed within 48 hours before your flight and once the form is submitted, you will receive an email with a QR code that will allow you to access the airport of destination.

The Sagrada Familia, located in Barcelona, is one of the most visited attractions in Spain and besides that, you can immerse yourself in the country’s vibrant arts and culture scene, fantastic food, and incredible museums.

However, Malaysians returning from abroad will still be required to undergo pre-departure and arrival polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests before re-entering Malaysia and must undergo home quarantine for 7 days upon arriving in the country.
