Penang Farmers Organization Seeks Session With LPP

Penang Farmers Organization (PFO) called out Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) to conduct a session with the farmer’s community to discuss the implementation of the Smart Sawah Berskala Besar (Smart SBB) Project.

Farmers are complaining that since the LPP has a new Head Director appointed last April, the agency did not hold a single session with farmers to discuss several issues.

“The Penang’s farmer community feel frustrated and disappointed as their thoughts were not taken into consideration when Smart SBB was being planned.

“However, there is still no answer from LPP despite lots of representation to voice out the grudges of the farmers, PFO says in a media statement today.

“There is no explanation or briefing from MAFI or subsidiary agencies such as LPP, Agriculture Department, IADA, or anything to the farmer’s community,

“We hope to get a session with the LPP to discuss the matter in order for all the farmers to get a better view and understanding to resolve any problem. PFO, itself, is ready to offer to conduct the session,” it says.
