Sunway TES Produces Prize Winning ACCA Student

Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence (CAE) Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) students scored excellence when four world prize winners and seven Malaysian prize winners were celebrated in this exam sitting.

The University also raised the bar of achieving an excellent overall pass rate of 70%, surpassing the ACCA overall world pass rate by 23%.

ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) qualification is the stepping stone to the ACCA Qualification and membership of the global body for professional accountants. Employers around the world, seek out ACCA members to lead their business to sustainable success, knowing that ACCA members are strategic thinkers with high ethical integrity, strong financial knowledge and the right business acumen.

Out of 93,635 students worldwide, a pair of Yayasan Peneraju scholar, Mika Azril bin Mohd Rizal and Bismiediana Nasuha Mohammad Rizal, triumphed as the World Prize Winner and Malaysian Prize Winner for ACCA FIA by ranking as number one in the world, with the score of a perfect 100 marks in Recording Financial Transactions.

Chong Jia En and Oh Kai Wen were announced as the World Prize Winner and Malaysian Prize Winner for ACCA by ranking number one in the world, sharing the same score of 88 marks in Audit and Assurance. Both achievers are under Sunway TES ACCA Global Leaders Bursary.

The achievers ranked number one in Malaysia for ACCA also include Hajar Nadhirah Binti Onn, scoring 86 marks in Strategic Business Leader; Isobel Robin Lai Katie, scoring 82 marks in Advance Taxation and Lim Hui Ning, scoring 90 marks in Taxation as she continued her success as World Prize Winner during the June examination.

Catherine Julian Kwestianus surpassed affiliates all around the world by achieving World 2nd Top Affiliate with the average marks of 83 in Strategic Business Leader, Strategic Business Reporting, Advanced Audit and Assurance and Advanced Financial Management.

“I am very keen to start my career journey with one of the leading accounting firms to build a solid foundation and hone my technical and management skills while fulfilling the practical experience requirements (PER) to become an ACCA member,” says Catherine.

Standing among the top in Malaysia is Reeann Low Man Ling, achieving Malaysia third Top Affiliate with an average mark of 74.25.

The September exam sitting also produced two outstanding ACCA Affiliates, a qualification for ACCA trainees who have passed their exams and will be required to gain their practical experience before qualifying as a member.

Sunway TES is recognised as the institution with world-class achievements, as they have accumulated 225 World Prize Winners and 698 Malaysian Prize Winners for the ACCA FIA and ACCA programmes for 27 years since its incorporation into Sunway College.
