FamilyMart Malaysia Redefines Convenience With ‘Food Superstore’ Concept

FamilyMart Malaysia today kicked off its fifth anniversary celebrations with the introduction of a new concept that features a classy look and feel, ‘food superstore’, and enhanced customer comfort. The new concept store lives up to FamilyMart’s commitment to making modern consumers’ lives easier and better through products, services and amenities that meet their daily needs.

When the first FamilyMart in Malaysia opened in November 2016, it pioneered the concept of quality ready-to-eat food in convenience stores. With over 250 stores nationwide, FamilyMart Mini kiosks and engaging with customers via technology, it anticipates to once again redefine the convenience store expectation.

An evolution of the konbini concept, the new FamilyMart concept store raises the convenience store benchmark with a ‘food superstore’ focus that answers to changed customer lifestyle and behaviour.

Expanding its emphasis on ready-to-eat food and something for everyone, FamilyMart introduced an all-new product range under the ‘food superstore’ concept to complement customers’ changing lifestyles. From a wide selection of daily foods to convenient frozen meals, these can be easily prepared at home or in the office as any meal of the day. There are over 100 products in this new range for customers to enjoy their own delicious favourites at their convenience such as ready-to-eat side dishes, frozen meals, and desserts.

New FamilyMart Hot Snacks have been added to the assortment options to delight customers, providing more grab & go hot meal options. Joining the popular FamilyMart Oden, Sofuto and Brown Sugar Bubble Milk are items such as Corn Sausage, Fried Pan (Japanese fried bun), Croissant Sandwich, and Ramen.

New indulgent sweet treats ranging from local to Japanese and Western desserts have also been introduced to offer wider variety in one location. As a destination for sweets and desserts, FamilyMart continues to bring exciting and trendy food and beverage products to consumers.

The fresh and exciting experience is complemented by a completely revamped look and feel. The new FamilyMart concept store welcomes customers with an Insta-worthy facade of wood tones. Upon stepping in, customers are greeted with comfortable seating area and selling floor, decorated with Japanese-inspired earthy ambience.

The first ‘Food Superstore’ concept stores are located in Sri Petaling and Bandar Puteri Puchong. Plans are afoot to have 20 concept stores, with at least one in each of the state where FamilyMart is already present, by end of 2021.
