3811 Farmers Received The Benefits Of The Smart SBB Program

A total of 3,811 farmers benefited under the Smart Sawah Berskala Besar (SBB) program session 1/2021 which involved a paddy cultivation area of 9,777.7 hectares.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said, until October, the number of involvement and income of farmers has managed to exceed the set target of 280 percent.

“This figure is one of the successes of the Smart SBB Session 1/2021 program which is joined by 11 leading companies in developing paddy cultivation areas with a target of 300,000 hectares in stages,” he said.

He said this during a press conference at the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony for the SBB Smart Program between the government and seven leading companies for session 2/2021 here on Tuesday.

In the meantime, Ronald said, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) will redouble its efforts on the Smart SBB program to attract more private investors.

“Therefore, seven leading companies agreed to sign a commitment and strategic cooperation in the Smart SBB program session 2/2021.

“The companies are Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (Nafas), Satu Cita Sdn Bhd, PTG Builder Services Sdn Bhd, Sermaju Agro Sdn Bhd, Panji Tulin Enterprise, Advansia (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, and Unggul Venture Sdn Bhd,” he said.

According to him, the involvement of this company is to make the country’s paddy and rice industry more dynamic and competitive.
