According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, 71.2% of Perak’s total population is now fully vaccinated. However, there are those in far-reaching localities who are yet to be vaccinated, where outreach programmes such as mobile clinics can be instrumental.
“Herd immunity is crucial for us to get back to some sense of normalcy. The vaccination rates are encouraging but we do find that there are many individuals who need accessible healthcare services, such as those in nursing homes and in rural communities.
“Which is why we have worked alongside the Perak State Government in rolling out vaccinations to reach outlying and underserved communities through these mobile vaccination clinics,” said Dato Jimmy Doh, Managing Director of Lagenda Properties.
As part of the efforts, the public listed affordable homes developer has been extensively refurbishing buses to be used as mobile vaccination clinics. The buses are transformed to become a conducive and suitable environment to carry out vaccination.
Vaccine doses used are procured from the State Government and up to 12,000 vaccinations have been completed since its mobile vaccination clinics began in August 2021. This is in line with its effort to support the “Perak Vaccination Drive” in the fight against Covid 19.
“Perak holds special meaning to Lagenda, as we originate from Sitiawan. We would like to give back and support Perakians, especially those without easy access to PPVs, such as the elderly and the disabled who require special assistance.
“The mobile vaccination drive has garnered encouraging support as we service towns in Perak such as Larut Matang, Selama, Batu Kurau and Bukit Gantang.
“We remain at each location between two to three days, and have vaccinated about 1,000 individuals during the period that we are at that particular town,” added Dato Jimmy Doh, Managing Director of Lagenda Properties.
