Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad has placed Khee San Berhad which is listed on the main board under Practice Note No. 17 (PN17) and will be kept watched closely.
Khee San is involved in the food business and regards itself as the largest domestic manufacturer of candy and sweets going back more than 50 years. Some of its popular brands include Torrone Barley Mint candy which is instantly recognisable to Malaysians both young and old.
There are various reasons for companies to be placed in this list among them are those in financial distress. Companies that fall within the definition of PN17 will need to submit their proposal to the Approving Authority to restructure and revive the company in order to maintain the listing status.
According to Bursa as of As at 19 November 2021, there are a total of 23 companies under PN17 and GN3 which represent 2.54% of the total number of 906 companies listed on the Main and ACE Markets of Bursa Securities.
