Buy Now Pay Later Concept Expected To Reach 480 Million By 2028

A report published by Research Market on buy and pay later( BNPL) says it is expected to grow by 76.3% to reach 479.3Millions in 2028.

Account Manager of Atome Malaysia Khang Keat Song says, “As you can see in Malaysia, the market is expected to grow six times more by the year of 2028 and to hit USD 480 million by the end of this year, which is 2021.”

“Because of the pandemics, we thought the customers will be more cautious in their spendings, so we want to help our customers to maximize their budget and still enjoy the quality of the products,” he says.

Currently, according to Khang, Atome Apps covers retail businesses like beauty, fashion, and travel outlets. With Atome, consumers can make three payments.

When asked whether Atome will expand its services, he says, “for now we are definitely focusing on apps services which allow for the splitting the bills into three (BNPL) as it aligns with the current situation (post-pandemic).

“We’re going to continue and to serve the customers to have the best experiences through our services,” he says.

Meanwhile, Atome recently announced its first-ever global celebrity brand ambassador, popular K-pop group ASTRO, as well as the launch of its #OwnTheExtraordinary campaign in Malaysia, lasting until the end of the year.
