Blondal Focuses On Customising High Quality Water Filtration & Purification

Clean water is crucial for health. After all, 78% of newly born babies are made up of water and in adult males and females, the amount is 60% and 55% respectively

Although the water that enters our home is treated, the municipal pipes that transport the water were largely installed in the 1960’s and are prone to leakages which allows contaminants comprising dirt, organic matter and other industrial effluence including heavy metals to enter.

As a preventive measure against contamination, particularly harmful organisms like viruses and bacteria, our authorities tend to apply a heavier dose of chlorine than recommended by World Health Organisation.

While chlorine is an effective disinfectant, it has its negative side effects.

Studies have shown drinking highly chlorinated water on the long-term and showering in hot chlorinated water can cause a number of side effects including respiratory problems and dry itchy skin and hair.

Having a water filtration system that can address these problems including industrial pollutants is thus crucial for the health.

Having a legacy of providing high quality water purification and filtration systems, Blondal offers a range of outdoor Point of Entry (POE) and indoor Point of Use (POU) filters that are specifically designed and customised to address the various issues found in Malaysian piped water in different parts of the country through research done through water analysis and market studies

The Swedish designed Blondal Modular Series are revolutionary water purification systems that are capable of filtering organics, sediments and absorb chlorine, toxins and other chemical compounds including iron to a safe level while preserving essential salts and minerals.

The outer frame is made of aluminium alloy material to withstand stronger water pressure and prevents rust. This weatherproof outdoor filter has aesthetic appeal and functionality with a longer lifespan.

Unlike other outdoor water filters in the market, the filters are upgradable without changing the outer frame.

Other filters available for both residential and office use include the K3, a point of use filter installed under the sink and the Fontan hot and cold-water dispensers.

The K3 features a two-step filtration process. The incoming water first goes through the UF (Ultra Filtration) membrane which has the ability to filter to 0.01 micron, thus removing bacteria and viruses up to 99.99%.

In the final step, the water runs through a granular activated carbon cartridge which absorbs any chlorine and foul odours thus making it safe for drinking. What makes this product unique is its ability to self-flush.

The flushing helps to protect and prolong the lifespan of both the UF membrane and the activated carbon. The added advantage is that water from the flushing process can be used for other kitchen cleaning chores.

In keeping with the belief that the natural salts and minerals in water should be retained, the Fontan Home and Fontan office water dispensers both uses UF membrane and granular activated carbon for filtration.
