HIL Industries Added Surgical-Grade Masks To Its Product Line

HIL Industries Bhd (HIB) has added surgical-grade masks with antiviral and filtration efficiency to its face masks product line.

HIL Medic Sdn Bhd (HMSB), HIB’s healthcare arm, has started producing the four-layer, self-sanitising copper oxide Korean Filter 99 (KF99) masks at its Shah Alam facility, and will soon add the five-layer KN95 masks to its product line-up.

According to the company, the new addition to its face mask product line is timely, given the rising demand for higher-quality face masks.

“Covid-19 is not yet over; rather, we are living amid a pandemic in which wearing face masks is quickly becoming the norm and a necessity, as seen in recent outbreaks of respiratory viruses.

With demand for higher-quality face masks strong, it is another line of defence against the emergence of new Covid-19 virus variants such as Delta, Delta plus Omicron.

“HIB strives to provide only the highest quality personal protective equipment (PPE) and healthcare products at reasonable prices. Our surgical masks are made in Malaysia, allowing us to offer competitive pricing while maintaining strict quality control for our customers’ benefit”, he says.

Face shields, three-ply, and four-ply surgical face masks, and KF94 masks are among HMSB’s existing core product lines.

The Medical Device Authority (MDA), the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the Conformite Europeenne (CE) Mark, European standard EN14683, SIRIM, ISO, and the ASTM Level 3 certification are just a few of the local and international organisations that have recognised HMSB’s masks.

From the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022 (FY22), HIB expects the PPE and healthcare division to contribute positively to the company’s earnings.
