While Elon Mulls Quitting, Tesla China Delivers Record 400,000 Vehicles

Billionaire extrovert, and founder of Tesla, Elon Musk has been tweeting short cryptic messages on cars on mars and him quitting work and at the same time cashing in on his stock at the exchange.

While we ponder on the pot-smoking, space dreaming Visionaire’s next move,his China operations for Tesla automobiles delivered a record 413, 283 vehicles in the first 11 months of the year, up 242 percent compared to the same period last year.

The US based electric car maker operates its Shanghai Gigafactory making some of its iconic models for the global market. According to the company, it has expanded its charging stations by building more than 1,000 supercharging stations, 8,000 supercharging piles, and 700 destination charging stations on the Chinese mainland.

Tesla’s made-in-China sedans have been exported to countries including Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands and Norway.

The current annual production capacity of Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory has exceeded 450,000 vehicles, with the localisation rate of parts reaching 90 percent, the company noted, adding that 92 percent of Tesla’s metallic materials of battery cells at the Shanghai plant can be recycled.

Perhaps the pleasing figures has driven Elon to retire earlier than planned, and now looking at that trip to Mars which is looking more tempting than ever before!
