AKM: MOSTI Achieves All Planned Initiatives

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) has achieved all its 33 initiatives including three key performance indicators set under the 100-day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family Aspirations) (AKM), as reported by Bernama.

MOSTI secretary-general Datuk Zainal Abidin Abu Hassan said all 33 initiatives had achieved the 100 per cent target on December 7, while the ministry’s three key performance indicators were achieved by November 15.

“The three main aspirations were the launch of the National Vaccine Development Roadmap and the establishment of the National Genome and Vaccine Institute.

“Third is the development of a comprehensive start-up industry ecosystem as well as bringing innovation to the government’s service delivery system through the ‘MyHackathon’ and ‘Malaysia Techlympics’ programmes,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba in the same statement attributed the success to the spirit of togetherness within the ministry, as well as the agencies under it.

“With these outstanding achievements, MOSTI is committed to continue to empower and cultivate science, technology and innovation in the short and long term, as well as ensure that any initiatives implemented benefit the Malaysian Family,” he said.

The statement also mentioned some of MOSTI’s plans for the upcoming year, which included focusing on the internet of things (IoT), smart agriculture, electric vehicles and nanotechnology, commercialisation of drone technology and social innovation, besides intensifying support for local start-ups.
