Dewan Rakyat Passes Budget 2022

The Dewan Rakyat today passed the Supply Bill 2022 (Budget 2022) at the Committee level.

The Bill, which is the first budget under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, was approved after a 13-day period of debate and winding up for each of the ministry involved.

Budget 2022, presented by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul, provides a total allocation of RM332.1 billion, the largest in Malaysia's history with the aim of reviving the economy from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Dewan Rakyat, it approved the 2022 Budget at the policy level on November 18 after being debated for seven days and through a winding -up session that started on November 15.

With the budget now passed, the Mnistries will start to be actively involved in implementing their respective programs and initiaitives to benefit the people. Among the Ministries to benefit the most from Buget 2022 is the Minsitry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education  and Minsitry of Health.
