Met Gala Malaysia A Platform For Young Locals To Showcase Their Talent

Sheng Tai International Founder and Chairman Dato Leong Sir Ley says Met Gala Malaysia aims to provide a platform for young locals designed to showcase their talent.

“Through our partnership with FashionTV from Paris, we believe there will be more opportunities for our local talents, be it models, influencers or fashion designers, to shine at the international arena. Sheng Tai International’s first Met Gala Malaysia has been a success. The response we have received to date has been overwhelming. This is all thanks to the support of Bill Keith and the local fashion industry.

“The 25 local designers today will also be showcasing tonight’s masterpieces at the Straits Designer Gallery at Metrasquare that is scheduled to open by the first quarter of 2022.  The second Gallery will open at The Sail Melaka when fully completed. The Gallery is part of our commitment to elevate Melaka into the next fashion capital like Milan.”

“Moving forward, Sheng Tai International will continue to create opportunities like this to showcase our local talents, boosting the country’s economy,” Leong says.

As part of its ongoing effort to turn Melaka into a fashion centre-of-excellence, award-winning property developer and property tourism specialist, Sheng Tai International Sdn. Bhd. (Sheng Tai International), together with Bill Keith, one of Malaysia’s fashion trailblazers hosted the inaugural Met Gala Malaysia (MGM) 2021.

The Southern Region’s biggest fashion night out was presented at The Moonbar, Ames Hotel, Melaka, against the iconic skyline of Melaka as the backdrop.
