Senai Airport City Disposes Vacant Free Industrial Zone Land To WIWYNN

Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd or SACSB, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of MMC Corporation Bhd, has recently entered into two Sale and Purchase Agreements with Wiwynn Technology Service (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wiwynn Corporation, Taiwan for the disposal of two vacant industrial lands at Senai Airport City measuring approximately 11.877 acres and 19.437 acres for a total purchase consideration of approximately RM68.3 million.

Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone was selected by Wiwynn as the preferred site to expand its cloud IT infrastructure manufacturing facilities to develop high-performance computing servers, storage products and rack solutions for leading data centres in the Asia Pacific region. The construction of the infrastructure manufacturing facilities is targeted to be completed by 2023.

Senai Airport City is the only industrial development area in Iskandar Malaysia with a 400 acre gazetted Free Industrial Zone and Free Commercial Zone that caters for export-oriented industries, thus an ideal location for principal or regional distribution hub to serve the Asia Pacific region.

“Manufacturing in Malaysia is an important move for Wiwynn’s global manufacturing strategy. Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone certainly gives us great geographical benefits, a rich talent pool and high operation flexibility to grow our APAC business confidently,” said Robin Wang, Wiwynn’s Vice President of Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

To date, Senai Airport City has invested approximately RM550 million on completed industrial plots with infrastructure and utilities. This “Plug-and-Play” development model provides assurance to investors and accelerates investors’ development timelines. Located within the mature eco-system of advanced manufacturing industries in the Senai-Kulai district, Senai Airport City has inevitably become the preferred choice for many export-oriented companies.
