AWC Handed Hospital Support Service Contract For NIH Worth RM106 Million

AWC Berhad which is involved in areas of engineering service both domestically and internationally has been handed an RM106 million contract for hospital support service by the Malaysian Ministry of Health.

The letter of acceptance was received by its subsidiary Ambang Wira, the contract will be for work to be done at the National Institute of Health for 5 years.

  • The group is involved in various activities and has becomea a leading Engineering Services Group in Malaysia with a regional presence in Asia and the Middle East. AWC provides total asset management services such as integrated facilities management and engineering services to building owners.It is also involved in the design and supply of automated pneumatic waste collection system in Malaysia, Singapore and the Middle East.

National Institutes of Health is the research body under the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), focusing on conducting health research to support the ministry. NIH was approved under the 7th Malaysia Plan and was officially launched in August 2003. Its main mandate is to do research from identifying research priorities, conducting research, and utilising research findings for the health services and programs.

It falls under the supervision of the Deputy Director General (Research & Technical Support). Besides NIH, there are three other divisions under the same program namely Planning Division, Engineering Service Division, and Medical Radiation Regulation Division.
