Prasarana To Start Offering MY50 Unlimited Travel Pass From 1 January

The RM50 travel pass that was announced during the 2022 Budget will be soon made available for commuters using trains and buses operated by Prasarana.

Effective January 1, commuters in Klang Valley will be able to purchase the MY50 pass which replaces MY30 that was made available in June 2020 under the PENJANA initiative. This announcement on the new pass was made by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He added, that the promotional period for MY30 will end this year and will be replaced with the RM50 monthly pass as announced by the Finance Minister during Budget 2022. Dr Wee later reiterated the attention given towards the public’s concerns and burden which was the reason MY50 was introduced, this service is only applicable for Malaysians.

With the pass, commuters will have full access to LRT, MRT, BRT, Rapid, and Monorail without the worry of stopping anywhere or for as many times as they chose to.

The Transport Ministry is also extending the MY50 pass to Pulau Pinang under Pas Mutiara, where Penangites will be able to use Rapid Penang for an unlimited period for a month.

Dr Wee added that the Government had allocated RM115 million to enable this initiative which included subsidising the travel cost which will have to be borne by Prasarana.
