NWP Foray Into Construction Proves Positive With RM30 Million Deal It Secured

NWP Holdings Berhad’s which has diversified from being a trader and manufacturer of timber products and into construction has managed to bag an RM30.4 million contract to supply and install an aluminum formwork system and undertake skim coating works at two development sites in Klang Valley. Not bad for a newcomer.

The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary NWP Construction Sdn Bhd accepted the Letters of Award from Pembinaan Bintang Baru Sdn Bhd for the projects.

Under the LOA, NWP Construction will be appointed as the sub-contractor to undertake the supply and installation of aluminum formwork system and skim coating works for the main building and infrastructure works for Cadangan Pembangunan Edusentral’ 36 and 41 Tingkat Fasa 3 in Shah Alam, Selangor and two blocks of 57 storey serviced apartment with 7 storey of car parks for “M Luna” a Mah Sing property in Kepong. The projects are estimated to be completed between a period of 15 months to 18 months from the commencement date.

CEO Yap Shuh Jia commented that the new deal marks its maiden involvement in the construction industry, “we are excited with our new ventures to be key earnings contributor for our Group in the near-term. The secured projects are vital to our profile in the industry,” he added. The Projects are expected to contribute positively to the future revenue, earnings and net assets of NWP during the duration of the Projects.
