97% Of Communication Towers Fixed

The flood did not only ravage through homes and private properties, the massive streams of water hit many public amenities including communication towers that have disrupted connectivity in many of the areas nationwide.

However, the network operators and their technical team have been aggressive in getting the tower back online as the communication service is extremely vital for every single person. According to Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, 97% of the total affected infrastructure that had been affected by the flood has been repaired.

Out of 1040 communication towers, 1015 has been repaired while the rest are still being worked on, the Minister was also suggesting to operators to build the towers 3 meter higher in areas that are known to be flood-prone. This will help secure future incidents (tower falling) from recurring if heavy rain floods the area.
