Leadership Appointment At Malaysian Takaful Association

Malaysian Takaful Association has appointed industry veteran Mohd Radzuan Mohamed as its Chief Executive Officer effective this year.

MTA Chairman, Elmie Aman Najas said that, “Radzuan brings to the MTA strong leadership, management, operational and entrepreneurial skills coupled with local and international experience. He is well-positioned to drive the organisation in spearheading the transformation of the Takaful industry, especially in its aspiration to achieve the new Takaful landscape as outlined in the Value-Based Intermediation for Takaful (VBIT) Framework

Radzuan has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, covering a wide range of expertise including takaful and retakaful, insurance and reinsurance, broking, consulting, and adjusting. Prior to joining MTA, he held several senior management positions in various insurance and takaful companies. He is currently a member of Lembaga Zakat Selangor Board Risk, Integrity and Compliance Committee and was a recipient of the Risk Icon Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Enterprise Risk Management. Radzuan is a Certified Professional in Islamic Finance, an Associate of the Institute Risk Management (AIRM, UK), Enterprise Risk Professional Certification, and is an alumnus of the Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in Scotland.

MTA is a trade association representing all 18 licensed Takaful and Retakaful operators in Malaysia. Its mission is to provide leadership and coordination to promote and develop the takaful industry to the next level and represent its members in engagements with the Government, regulators, and other public authorities both locally and internationally.
