The excitement of Cabinet reshuffle was laid to rest as Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob confirmed that there will be no Cabinet reshuffle as the government is focusing on more pressing issues affecting the people.
He said any report of a Cabinet reshuffle was mere speculation, adding that it was a non-issue as the country was still struggling to cope with the monsoon season and the pandemic.
“Yes, people are talking, names are being mentioned. It’s normal. I have said it before, my focus is now on the floods, so I don’t want to talk about whether there will be a Cabinet reshuffle. I didn’t announce any, so there’s none!
There was widespread speculation earlier today that Cabinet reshuffle was on the cards with names of some members of the present cabinet’s name being bandied around as the Deputy Prime Minister.
