Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin has been named president and chief executive officer of Agrobank, effective January 3, 2022.
He has over 29 years of banking and finance experience.
Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah’s broad experience in strategic planning, business development, legal and Syariah compliant financing, combined with his strong leadership skill and vision, according to Chairman Datuk Mustapha Buang, will further strengthen Agrobank’s position as Malaysia’s leading agriculture financial institution.
He has extensive years of exposure in the financial industry sector, starting his career as a Management Trainee in Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Hong Kong in 1994 and continued his stint with HSBC Group in various senior positions covering both corporate and commercial as well as retail & consumer banking division. He later pursued his career with Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad in February 2008 as Head of Branch Management prior to joining PMB Tijari Berhad in September 2013.
Tengku Ahmad Badli holds a Bachelor of Law degree (LLB Hons) degree from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. He also attended the Leadership Program at Cornell University in 2012 and the Islamic Leadership Development Program at the University Of Cambridge, the United Kingdom in 2017. He is also actively involved in serving society. He was commissioned by SPB Yang Di Pertuan Agong as Major (Honorary) of Regimen 506AW, Angkatan Tentera Malaysia on 8 June 2011 and appointed as Justice of The Peace by The Sultan of Kelantan on 11 November 2012.
He will be taking over the helm from Acting Chief Executive Officer Puan Khadijah Iskandar who has been running the activity at the bank since the departure of Tuan Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan.
