Carsome Completes US$290 Series E Round, Valuation Now At US$1.7 Billion

Carsome which is planning to list in US sometime this year could be Malaysia’s first unicorn in 2022, Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform has just announced the completion of its US$290 million Series E round.

With the latest funding, the company has increased its valuation to approximately US$1.7 billion further solidifying Carsome’s position as the leading integrated e-commerce auto platform in the region.

The latest financing round was jointly led by Qatar Investment Authority, 65 Equity Partners, and Seatown Private Capital Master Fund. The round also saw strong participation from investors such as Mediatek, Sunway, Gokongwei Group, YTL Group, and Taiwan Mobile.

The automotive e-commerce platform plans on using the proceeds raised in this round of financing to accelerate investment in people, product, technology, data capability, infrastructure, and regional expansion of its retail brand, Carsome Certified, across key markets in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
