Nestcon lands two contracts handed by China Communications Construction (ECRL) the turnkey contractor for the ECRL rail link, as sub-contracts on the infrastructure work for Package S1-1 and Package S1-2 stretch in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
The sub-contract sum for Project S1-1 and Project S1-2 is RM44.98 million and RM45.42 million, respectively. According to reports the payment for the sub-contract sum will be made progressively based on the progress of work completed and as certified by CCC(ECRL).
The company which has strong capability in civil engineering and infrastructure work has been involved in the ECRL project prior to landing this award. Back in June, the company exercised an Initial Public Offering on the ACE Market to raise RM45 million in funds for impending projects. Among the projects at that time were the railway contracts.
ECRL is a massive undertaking between the Malaysian government and China as part of the Belt and Road initiative, it connects Tumpat, Kuantan Port, and Selangor.
