VSolar Signs RM96 Million Deal To Supply Rail Parts For Ampang Light Rail Vehicle

VSolar Group Bhd signs RM96million contract to supply parts to RA Integration Links Sdn Bhd for the overhaul of fifty sets of Ampang 6-Car Light Rail Vehicle.

The solar energy company is expanding its offerings from solar to other areas and has successfully used its expertise in supply chain management to assist RA to obtain all necessary equipment and tools to complete the awarded project. This comes as the RA secured a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) deal to overhaul fifty sets of Ampang 6-Car LRV.

Executive Director of VSolar, Koo Kien Yoon “This current procurement project runs for 5 years. It is a project that will impact the lives of millions of people that are staying in Klang Valley. No doubt, trains are one of the best transportation methods provided by the Government and our team intends to keep it running at its best to continue serving the people,” Koo added.

In 2020, a report by Statista concluded that cars contribute the most to carbon emission in Malaysia’s 8.42 metric tonne per capita emission, by a staggering 40% of total pollution compared to trains at only 3%.

The deal will see RA making payments via a financing deal with Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB), dispersing funds to VSolar after completion of procurement activities, paid based on every invoice billed and acceptance.

VSolar will be responsible and undertake to make due payment to the suppliers in completing the Works as agreed.
