FTSE BM KLCI Ends Lower 12.41 Points, -0.80% to 1542.92

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 17 – Malaysian shares end lower on Monday with cautious mixed with negative sentiment on market.

** Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Monday, at 5pm, the FTSE BM KLCI shed 12.41 points or 0.80% to 1542.92.

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,553.80. The index fluctuated between 1,541.071 and 1555.31

** 337 counters are gainers, 407 counters are unchanged, while 556 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 2,585,085,100 shares changed hands; while Turnover of RM2,005,454,761.

** The top 5 gainers : MPI (42.00 , + 1.04) ; F&N (25.50, +0.62) ; PANAMY (29.40, +0.30) ; RAPID (9.28, +0.28); ANNUM (1.00, +0.24)

** The Top 5 Losers : KLK ( 21.06, -0.74 ); Vitrox ( 16.54, -0.46 ), BAT (13.50, -0.46 ); HLCAP ( 7.08, -0.42), Nestle ( 133.50, -0.40)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : SMTRACK, Kanger, AirAsia, Komark, AHB.

** Key regional markets were ended mixed.

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) rose slightly +5.60 or +0.17% to 3,287.57 , Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index down 165.29 points or -0.68% at 24,218.03, Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced 209.24 or +0.74% at 28,333.52, and Korea’s KOSPI declined 31.82 points or -1.09% to 2,890.10, Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index rose 20.41 or +0.68% to 3541.76.
