Western Union and Kiplepay Partner to Power Cross Border Money Transfer Services

Western Union and Kiplepay Sdn Bhd (Kiplepay) have announced the launch of Western Union money transfers on the Kiple e-wallet mobile application.

This exclusive partnership between Western Union and Kiplepay will expand Kiple’s reach to more than 200 countries and territories, enabling Kiple e-Wallet Users to Send and Receive Western Union Money Transfers via the Kiple App.

Western Union’s exclusive money transfer service on the app may drive Kiple’s strategy to accelerate cashless adoption in the country.

Kiple’s users now have a single app to manage their e-money, transfers, purchases and remittances with ease, without the need of a bank account. They will have access to all of Kiple’s offerings, which include the Kiple Visa Prepaid Card that can be used worldwide (and also for ATM withdrawals), Kiple’s referral programme and all ongoing promotions and perks.

“Western Union is moving forward with a mindset grounded in collaboration, cooperation and innovation,” said Jeffrey Navarro, Head of Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei & Indochina.

“We are excited to partner with a reputable financial services provider such as Western Union to further expand our Kiple ecosystem and move one step closer to providing greater financial assistance digitally to more communities,” said Ricky Liew, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Kiplepay Sdn Bhd.

Unbanked senders in Malaysia can also walk into any Western Union retail agent location and make a domestic money transfer to themselves in cash, which can be pulled into their Kiple App by simply in putting the unique Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) and other necessary information. Kiple’s users can reload their e-wallet on the app using and seamlessly send money to their loved ones overseas.

“Through this new offering, we hope to provide greater ease of usage for students, migrant workers, businesses and the general public who want a more reliable way to move their money with just a few taps in our app,” Ricky Liew added.

Western Union is the global leader in cross-border, cross-currency money movement and payments while Kiplepay Sdn Bhd (Kiplepay) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Green Packet Berhad.
