FTSE BM KLCI Inches Upward In Post Lunar Holiday Celebration

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 3  –Bursa Malaysia inched up on Thursday in line with positive regional market performance, overnight performance of DJIA and Nasdaq rose for a fourth straight session. S&P 500 gained 0.9%.

Bursa Malaysia ended higher on Wednesday, the FTSE BM KLCI up 13.46 points or 0.89% at 1,525.73. The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,515.92. The index fluctuated between 1,515.25 – 1,526.62. 563 counters are gainers,  358 counters are unchanged, while 269 counters are losers.

Total volume of 2,054,033,840  recorded; while Turnover of RM1,623,722,502. The Top 5 Gainers : PMBTECH-LA (15.30, +1.06); NESTLE (133.00, +1.00) ; PETDAG (20.22, +0.82) ; PMBTECH (15.40, +0.74) ; RAPID (8.73, +0.43)

The Top 5 Losers : KESM (10.52, -0.48) ; MPI (39.00, -0.46) ; F&N (24.28, -0.42); FBMKLCI-HDW (0.10, -0.37) ; SAM (21.30, -0.28)

The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : G3 (0.085, +0.005) ; DNEX (0.96, +0.04); SMTRACK (0.165, +0.005); SAPNRG (0.05, +0.005) ; CORAZA (O.96, +0.055)

Regional bourses:

Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) up 65.31 points or +2.01% to 3,314.90;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 declined 292.29 or -1.06% at 27,241.31, and Korea’s KOSPI up 44.48 points or 1.67% to 2,707.82; Both Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange are closed today for the Lunar New Year holidays.
