FTSE BM KLCI Ended Lower, Traded in Range Bound

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 8 – Malaysian shares ended lower, erased earlier gains in the midday on Tuesday. The index is traded in range bound amid thin volume. Most of the key regional markets ended positively. While overnight stocks at Wall Street ended lower erased earlier gains to end lower.

** Bursa Malaysia declined on Tuesday, the FTSE BM KLCI shed 0.65 points or –0.04% to 1,530.09.

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,533.33. The index fluctuated between 1,529.10 – 1,534.73.

** 451 counters are gainers, 415 counters are unchanged, while 468 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 2,850,274,600 shares changed hands; while Turnover of RM2,174,034,079.

** The Top 5 Gainers : PMBTECH (17.40, +1.54) ; PMBTECH-WA (14.10, +1.42) ; PMBTECH-LA (17.00, +1.30) ; SAM (22.30, +1.02); AIRPORT (6.11, +0.38)

** The Top 5 Losers : FANG-2XL (12.30, -0.90) ; MPI (38.60, -0.40) ; HARTA (5.57, -0.26) ; NESTLE (133.00, -0.20) ; TIMECOM (4.25, -0.14)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : ATAIMS (0.505, +0.04) ; MYEG (1.05, +0.08); SMTRACK (0.185, UNCHANGED) ; AIRASIA (0.66, +0.095) ; SAPUNRG (0.05, UNCHANGED)

** Most of the key regional markets were ended in positive territories.

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) up 38.63 or +1.15% to 3,405.11 ; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined 250.06 points or -1.02% at 24,,329.49;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 35.65 or 0.13% at 27,284.52, and Korea’s KOSPI up 1.41 points or 0.051% to 2,746.47;  Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index rose 23.05 points or +0.67% to 3,452.63.
