Australia Fully Reopens Its Borders After Two Years

After nearly two years of being closed due to the pandemic, Australia fully reopened its international borders to travellers vaccinated against the coronavirus today, as tourists returned and hundreds of people were reunited with family and friends.

More than 50 international flights will arrive in the country throughout the day, with 27 landing in Sydney, the country’s largest city.

Foreign visitors will be welcomed back to Australia on Monday for the first time since the federal government shut down the country on March 20, 2020, as Covid-19 spread across the globe.
