FTSE BM KLCI Continued with the Surge; Cautious Sentiment Remained

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 28  –Bursa Malaysia inched up on Monday following the hike in oil prices, with PetDag leading the top gainers, also lifted by heavyweights of plantation stocks. Whilst the major regional markets closed mixed. Market sentiment is expected to be remained cautious on the geopolitical conflict between Russia-Ukraine.

** Bursa Malaysia ended higher on Monday, the FTSE BM KLCI up 16.56 points  or  +1.04% at 1,608.28 .

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,595.74. The index fluctuated between 1,595.74 – 1,613.49.

** 413 counters are gainers,  368 counters are unchanged, while 635 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 3,478,526,300 recorded; while Turnover of RM3,971,216,146 .

** The Top 5 Gainers : PETDAG (21.52, +1.30) ; UTDPLT (15.22, +0.54) ; KLK (26.00, +0.52) ; TAANN (5.49, +0.37) ; SOP (6.23, +0.33)

** The Top 5 Losers : PMBTECH (18.60, -1.44) ; PMBTECH-WA (15.40, -1.40) ; F&N (22.60, -1.20) ; NESTLE (134.00, -1.10) ; CARLSBG (20.20, -0.46)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks : SIAB (0.31,+0.01) ; SMTRACK (0.24, +0.005) ; DNEX (1.13, -0.02) ; ARMADA (0.475, -0.02) ; FITTERS (0.255, -0.075)

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) down 54.23 or  -1.65% to 3,240.24 ; Hong Kong’s HSI Index up declined 54.16 points or -0.24% at 22,713.02;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 50.32 or +0.19% at 26,526.82; and Korea’s KOSPI up 22.42 points or 0.84% to 2,699.18;  Shanghai Stock Exchange rose 10.90 points or 0.32% at 3,462.31.
