Affin Bank Partners UITM To Encourage Entrepreneurship Among Students

Affin Bank Berhad and Affin Islamic Bank Berhad have signed an MoU on the establishment of ‘Kompleks AT-Tijarah AFFIN-UiTM’ with Universiti Teknologi MARA to provide entrepreneurship opportunities to its students and local communities.

With this latest partnership, Chief Executive Officer of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, Encik Nazlee Khalifah said, “The Exchange of MoU was a continuation of AFFIN’s RM4.5 million contribution to build “Kompleks AT-Tijarah AFFIN-UiTM” where the proceeds from the rental of commercial units will be channeled to students and UiTM communities to assist them in areas of community development, education and health.”

The complex has a total of 36 shop lots with 70% have been rented for commercial purposes such as banks, food court, restaurants, commercial outlets and other retail. It will provide an opportunity for students to be become entrepreneurs and generate their own income. Affin’s objective is to work closely with UiTM and support the welfare of its students.

The MoU is part of its effort that is carried out for their benefit and to show our commitment to growing entrepreneurship development in the country, which can boost the economy by creating more jobs and generating new income. Through this both parties view the huge potential in local universities and how its can accelerate the growth of the entrepreneurship industry.

Affin Islamic also presented an additional RM100,000.00 Zakat contribution to UiTM Endowment Funds which will assist deserving students to finance their educational needs at the university. Additionaly the bank will also continue to support the welfare of students with another two additional Food Bank contributions of RM10,000.00 to UiTM Shah Alam campus and RM5,000.00 to UiTM Puncak Alam campus to assist students and lessen their hardships through the distribution of basic food necessities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
