Velesto Energy Berhad has received an award from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. for the provision of Jack-Up Drilling Rigs to be used for oil exploration.
The group received the award via its subsidiary Velesto Drilling which operates these rigs, according to statements released the contract will be for a period of 2 years which is expected to commence in Q1 of 2022. The contract also has a provision to add another year if required.
Rigs that will be required is the Naga 2 which is the premium independent-leg cantilever jack-up rig with a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and has a rated operating water depth of 350 feet. The Naga 3 is a premium independent-leg cantilever jack-up drilling rig with a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and has a rated operating water depth of 350 feet. Additionally, the Naga 4,5 and 6 will also be deployed for Petronas Carigali, in total 6 jack up rigs will be commissioned under the contract.
Velosto has not revealed the value of the contract in its statement.
