Application Of New Abbreviations For The Ministry Of Communications And Multimedia Malaysia

Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima TPr Annuar Hajl Musa informed that from March 17, the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia will use the new abbreviation K-KOMM to replace KKMM which has been used so far, while its minister is referred to as MenKOMM.

The use of this new abbreviation aims to avoid the confusion that often occurs among the public between the ministry and the agency under it, namely the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) as well as to facilitate pronunciation in all matters to be clearer.

K-KOMM is responsible for providing comprehensive and inclusive communication infrastructure, developing the digital economy through the empowerment of national information and communication technology as well as expanding and deepening the delivery and dissemination of information strategically to achieve the ministry’s vision to create a connected, informed, creative and digital society.
