Maxis To Supply Fixed Fibre Infrastructure For Teladan Setia Property Projects

Maxis has signed an agreement with Teladan Setia Sdn Bhd to build its fibre network to the Melaka-based property developer’s projects in the state.

As part of the agreement, Maxis will design, supply, install, test and commission the telecommunication infrastructure for fixed services to residents within Taman Bertam Heights, Melaka. The telco will be connecting more than 2,100 homes for the development, with potentially connecting up to another 10,000 premises in Melaka in the future. The partnership is also part of its on-going collaborations with property developers in the country in providing high-speed broadband and connectivity solutions.

“Our strategic collaboration with Maxis is an important step to developing connected homes and townships. Since the pandemic, demand for spacious homes with all-rounded amenities have been on the rise” said Francis Sia, Executive Director Teladan Setia Sdn. Bhd.

“Through our fibre network, capabilities and attractive home propositions, we are able to open up even more possibilities for these digital services, supported by a great connectivity experience. This is an example of our commitment to serving Malaysians with our All-ways Connected Network,” said Paul McManus, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Maxis.

Teladan Setia has launched Precinct 1 of Taman Bertam Heights – a Gated & Guarded residential township with a GDV of RM 242.7 million – in Melaka Tengah on 3 February this year. The township offers 2-Storey Semi-Detached Houses and 2-Storey Terraced Houses in Precinct 1, the per-unit selling price ranging from RM500,000 to RM750,000. With a focus on community-oriented living, the neighbourhood features a multi-tier security system, including electric perimeter fencing, 24-hour CCTV surveillance, guard patrol system and barrier gates with access control.

Residents will also gain exclusive access to its Clubhouse, which houses various facilities like a swimming pool and a gymnasium. All homes in Taman Bertam Heights are fully networked residences equipped with fibre optics infrastructure for high-speed broadband connectivity, while all utilities and drainage are located underground for an overall cleaner and neater environment. Approximately 50% of the units have been sold upon the official launch in February.

Maxis has been seeing good traction of its fibre propositions and consistent growth of fibre connections quarter on quarter. As at Q4 2021, it has more than 530k fibre connections and has further expanded its broadband access connectivity through wider deployment to underserved areas. Combined with its earlier build, Maxis will have its own total premises passed of close to 300k by the end of 2022.
