TalentCorp Establishes Northern Office To Cater For Regions Robust Growth

Talent Corporation Malaysia cognisant of the exciting growth prospect of the Northern region has opened a new office in Penang.

This will be the first branch for the agency under the Ministry of Human Resources outside of Klang Valley. Thomas Mathew, Group Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp who officiated the opening said “We are excited for the opportunity to grow in Penang, while also expanding our presence in the Northern region including Kedah, Perlis and Perak,”

According to Thomas, “the new TalentCorp and MYXpats office in Bayan Baru will serve as a hub to further collaborate with employers on initiatives and programmes to benefit the Malaysian talent ecosystem. The presence of MYXpats in Penang is also aimed at improving its services processing time for the region.

According to the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) is projected to achieve robust regional GDP growth of 6.5% to 6.9% in 2022, creating 30,573 new jobs. It is this growth projection that would require TalentCorp to be close to the humming of the engine that would require strong work.

Among the services offered at the new office include MYXpats services; i.e. Employment Pass, Professional Visit Pass, Dependent Pass and its related Passes. Residence Pass-Talent; a 10-year renewable visa for highly qualified expatriates to live and work in Malaysia. Returning Expert Programme; an incentive for Malaysian professionals abroad to bring home their experiences, skill sets, and intercultural abilities to benefit Malaysia. mynext; an integrated one-stop talent solution and analytics platform to support talent development initiatives. Structured Internship Programme; a double tax incentive for employers to train local talent by providing meaningful and relevant internships

Including, Career Comeback Programme;advisory services, learning workshops and employment opportunities to reintegrate women back into the workforce. Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) Income Tax Deduction; incentive for employers who implement FWA in their organisations. Work-Life Practices; promoting better work-life integration for the future of work, workplace and workforce through workshops, advisory services and resources. Industry-Academia Collaboration; programmes to bridge the gap between industries and universities to ensure the supply of market-ready talent.

With the new Bayan Baru office, TalentCorp hopes to be able to serve the Northern Region of Malaysia better.
