Barakah Files Appeal Over Dismissal of RM1.02 Billion Claim Against Petronas

Barakah Offshore Petroleum Berhad and its subsidiary PBJV Group Sdn Bhd have filed an appeal over the judgment issued by the High Court on dismissing its RM1.02 claim against Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and Petroleum Nasional Berhad.

PBJV which is involved in the business of pipeline service and offshore transportation and installation together with Barakah has been ordered to pay RM400,000 as costs incurred by the Courts.

Upon receiving the decision, both parties have stated that have decided to file an appeal at the Court of Appeal against the said decision and will await the grounds of judgment from the High Court to ascertain the basis of such dismissal.

This comes when Petronas Carigali suspended the contract with Barakah citing a failure of non-performance.
