ePemula: RM300 Mil to be Apportioned to 2 Million Youths via 4 e-Cash Providers

In an official statement released by the Ministry of Finance (MoF), a total of RM300 million has been allocated to benefit 2 million youths through an e-cash initiative called ePemula, under the 2022 budget.

Eligible youths will receive e-cash credits of RM150 each through their selected e-wallet applications. Four e-wallet service providers have been selected for this program, namely BigPay, GrabPay, ShopeePay and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

The statement also pointed out that, the four e-wallet service providers currently have a network of over 1.2 million retailers. With the program commencing in mid-April, SMEs who have not yet registered to receive buyer payments electronically or cashless are advised to register with the stated e-wallet service providers to benefit from the implementation of this ePemula.
