MEDAC Minister Wants The Ministry To Be officially Referred As KUSKOP

Ministry of Entrepreneur Development And Cooperation, Tan Sri Nor Omah has declared that his Ministry to be officially referred to as KUSKOP, an acronym of the ministry’s name in Bahasa which is Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi Malaysia.

The Ministry has been fondly referred to as MEDAC since its inception as many of the past Ministers and staff have adopted the English abbreviation instead of the Bahasa short name. However, Nor Omah claims the official Bahasa referring is in line with Prime Minister Ismail Sabri and his recent statement about using Bahasa Melayu as the official government language both domestically and internationally.

What’s in a name? Not much apparently, many of the Ministry do go by their Bahasa acronyms, like KPKT, KKMM, KBS which have not encountered any issues in their functions and its unlikely KUSKOP will be facing irregularities in its duties. The Ministry mostly deals with local entrepreneurs and cooperations who are mostly well versed in Bahasa and will have no problem with calling the Minister, KUSKOP Minister.

Importantly the Ministry does its job in helping the entrepreneurs in their challenges and assisting them in the recovery, as the saying goes ‘That which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet.
