In his formal address to Exco Members during Ramadan month, Menteri Besar Selangor, Dato Seri Amiruddin Shari has stated that the State has collected RM760 million in taxes till the end of March.
He said the amount is RM100 million more than last year when the country was plagued by pandemic-induced lockdown when the State had to offer rebates and supportive programs for businesses.
The improved collection will bode well for Selangor as its looks to revive the economy to pre-pandemic levels and implement long-term structural plans to overcome situations it faced during the pandemic and the recent flooding incident.
Among its key initiatives include food security and food price increase intervention program and the flood mitigation and smart tunnel project.
